Bellapais

Bellapais is two miles east from the villa perched in the besparamak mountains with commanding views. Really worth a visit, there are several restaurants. One of the nicest spots in North Cyprus

Cathedral in Famagusta North Cyprus

A day trip to Famagusta / Salamis is recommended.

Amazing battlements and architecture. There's a super little patisserie near Othello's gate in Famagusta. About 1 hr drive from the villa.

Kyrenia harbour

A delightful horseshoe harbour encased with the venetian walled castle. A wonderful atmosphere. You can book your boat trips paragliding and diving here.

Five finger mountain

This was taken on the way to Buffavento Castle, the Island takes its name from copper and you can see the rich colour in the rocks

Paragliding

A couple of years ago I managed to pluck up the courage. Spectacular views and a great experience

Othello's Gate

A lion stone carving near Othello's gate in Famagusta

Buffavento Castle

Truly wonderful experience, views to die for, The three crusader castles Kantara , St Hilarion and Buffavento are at the highest points of the mountain range.

Approx 500 steps to the top. A single track road leads to Buffavento with no kerbs and sheer drops, so it's a nervous drive.

Museum

On the road going west and sited where the invasion occurred. Range of Armoured vehicles and artillery used in the invasion 1974. I have not been in the museum itself, but have been told it is not for children as there are some graphic pictures.

Kyrenia market

Great deals on veg and fruit, clothes. odds and ends. Every Wednesday just off the main road behind Arcelic & electric sub sytation and near the municipality

Kyrenia harbour

Ultimate atmosphere and a great range of bistros

Niazis

Our favourite restaurant, excellent value. Probably the best on North Cyprus Near the Dome hotel around from the harbour

Salamis ruins

Amazingly preserved with a beautiful beach as a backdrop. Flattened in an earthquake 2000 years ago, Salamis was the heart of trade in the meditteranean

Kyrenia Castle

An imposing castle sheltering the harbour, this picture was taken on a boat trip organised ion the harbour. these include fish lunch & mezze stooping off along the coast for swims/ views. Escape beach is a common berth.

Turtle Beach

A key nesting point for turtles. Nice sandy safe beach for a swim. 5 miles east of Kyrenia

St Hilarion castle

Sitting above villa Jasmine. It's well worth a visit and the drive is nice and gentle, no frills.

St Mamas Guzelyurt

On the west coast. This is the centre of the Island's main farming area. A gentle breeze refreshingly breathes on the coastline here.

Karting - ZET

There's a great mini Grand prix circuit - turn right at the roundabout at Nicosia, then about a ten min drive west towards Guzelyurt

North Cyprus Golf & Country club

20 mins drive from tJasmine villa East on the coast road Buggies and clubs can be hired.

Golf - 18 hole course

professionally designed , 18 fabulous challenging holes.

Kyrenia

From the castle walls, a real gem
